Your inspector needs to see the completed electrical installation, required GFCI protection, panel labeling and representative testing showing that the system is operating properly.
Start with a walkthrough, then show the panel, required protected receptacles and representative testing so the inspector can see that the completed installation is operating.
Focus on required GFCI-protected locations and test a representative sample of other receptacles. The goal is to show proper operation and a consistent installation pattern. Your inspector may request additional testing if needed.

Use a plug-in receptacle tester at representative required GFCI locations.

Test representative GFCI locations in different areas of the project rather than showing only one receptacle.
Use the receptacle tester at a representative sample of standard receptacles so the inspector can see a consistent pattern of operation.

You do not need to record every receptacle unless the inspector specifically requests additional testing.
Demonstrate representative lighting and switch operation throughout the project.

Show installed safety devices and other required electrical equipment included in the project.

If an electrical condition is different from the typical installation, make sure your inspector can see it clearly.
