Request Your Inspection

Submit your inspection request and project information through Permit Rockstar.

02

Provide What's Needed

Upload photos, videos, measurements, or supporting documentation requested for the inspection.

Private Provider Inspections.
Without Cutting Corners.

A Virtual Inspection Is Still a Real Inspection.

Florida law expressly allows Private Provider inspections to be performed virtually. Permit Rockstar Private Provider LLC conducts these inspections pursuant to Florida Statute §553.791, using the digital evidence and methods the inspector determines are necessary to evaluate the work and make a professional compliance determination.

01

Professional Judgment

The Private Provider inspector determines what must be shown or documented to make the inspection determination.

02

Code Compliance Still Applies

Virtual changes how the inspection is conducted, not the requirement for the work to comply with approved plans and applicable building codes.

03

Official Inspection Results

Inspection results are submitted to the AHJ as part of the Private Provider process.

Virtual changes where the inspector is. Not what the inspection is for.

Questions About Private Provider Virtual Inspections?

Learn how Permit Rockstar coordinates Private Provider Virtual Inspections in Florida, what types of building inspections can typically be performed virtually, and how the process keeps construction projects moving.

Yes. Florida Statute §553.791 provides a framework for authorized Private Providers to perform building code inspection services, including inspections conducted virtually when appropriate.

Permit Rockstar coordinates the inspection workflow, while Permit Rockstar Private Provider LLC performs Private Provider inspection services pursuant to Florida law.

The Private Provider inspector determines what information and documentation are necessary to evaluate the work and make the inspection determination.

You request the inspection through Permit Rockstar and provide the information needed for the inspector to evaluate the work.

Depending on the inspection, this may include photographs, videos, measurements, supporting documents, or a live virtual walkthrough. The Private Provider inspector reviews the available evidence and determines whether additional information is required.

Once the inspection is completed, Permit Rockstar coordinates the inspection result and applicable documentation through the Private Provider workflow.

Response within 4 hours. Most requests are handled within 2 hours.

Permit Rockstar is designed to keep inspection requests moving without the traditional all-day inspection window.

Response times are subject to the terms, requirements, availability, and scope of the customer's applicable Service Level Agreement.

Not necessarily. A Virtual Inspection does not automatically mean scheduling a traditional inspection through a video call.

Depending on the work being inspected, the Private Provider inspector may be able to evaluate photographs, recorded video, measurements, documents, or other supporting evidence.

When additional visual information is necessary, the inspector may request a live virtual walkthrough or additional documentation. The inspector determines what evidence is necessary to complete the inspection.

In most cases, no specialized inspection equipment is required beyond what is reasonably necessary to document the work.

A smartphone or tablet can typically be used to capture photographs, video, and other information requested by the inspector. Certain inspection types may require measurements, testing information, or additional documentation.

The Private Provider inspector determines what evidence is required for the particular inspection.

No. Virtual changes where the inspector is located. It does not change what the inspection is for.

The work must still satisfy the applicable code requirements. The Private Provider inspector evaluates the information provided and determines whether there is sufficient evidence to make the inspection determination.

If the inspector needs additional photographs, video, measurements, documentation, or a live walkthrough, those items can be requested before the inspection is completed.

Yes. Using a Private Provider does not eliminate the Authority Having Jurisdiction, or AHJ, from the permitting process.

Permit Rockstar coordinates the applicable Private Provider inspection documentation and results as part of the permitting workflow.

The AHJ retains its governmental authority and remains responsible for the functions reserved to the jurisdiction under applicable law.

Permit Rockstar's Private Provider Virtual Inspection workflow can generally accommodate a broad range of building inspections throughout construction, from foundation through roof, when the work can be appropriately evaluated through virtual documentation.
