Footer Inspection Guide
Here's what we need to see for your footer inspection. Follow these 6 simple steps and make sure everything is still exposed.
Show Us These 6 Things.
Clear photos and slow videos are best. Make sure measurements are easy to read.
Show us the whole footer.
Take a slow video showing the entire footer from beginning to end.
Make sure we can see:
- The full layout
- Corners
- The excavation
- The surrounding work area
Show us the width and depth.
Use a tape measure and make sure we can clearly read the measurements.
- Footer width
- Footer depth
Have different size footers? Show each size.
Show us the steel.
Take a slow video or clear photos showing the reinforcing steel throughout the footer.
Make sure we can see:
- Steel placement
- Corners
- Laps
- Vertical steel, if applicable
Show us the steel clearance.
Show that the reinforcing steel is supported and not sitting directly on the soil.
Take a few clear close-up photos around the footer.
Show us the bottom of the footer.
Give us a clear view of the excavation and soil or base conditions.
If your project requires compaction documentation, include it with your inspection.
Show us anything different.
If you have anything unusual, make sure we can see it clearly.
- Steps in the footer
- Pipes or sleeves
- Changes in elevation
- Different footer conditions
- Anything that doesn't look like the rest
Before You Submit
Take 30 seconds and check your photos and videos.
- Can we clearly see the entire footer?
- Can we read the measurements?
- Are the photos clear and well lit?
- Did you show the steel clearly?
- Did you show anything unusual?
- Is everything still exposed?
